Helen Zille says ANC impeachment bid is 'baseless and frivolous'

The ANC in the Western Cape is attempting to impeach Premier Helen Zille, saying she has broken the law by using a police officer to bug the phones of her provincial cabinet.

Stephen Grootes on Tuesday spoke to the ANC's provincial leader, Marius Fransman, and Zille about this claim.

Listen to the conversation below:

Information tells us that Helen knew the person before the time. She must allow the process to be followed.

Marius Fransman, Western Cape ANC chairperson

They keep claiming that I've broken the law, but they can't say which law I have broken... The cabinet took a decision... to get a professional to install encryption software (on our phones).

Helen Zille, Western Cape premier
