Bail hearing due next week for convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius

Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of murder by the Supreme Court of Appeal and will return to court for a new sentence.

EWN reporter, Barry Bateman says that Pistorius will first appear in court next week for a bail hearing.

Bateman said Pistorius is likely to remain under correctional supervision at his uncle's Waterkloof mansion, under stricter State conditions, until re-sentencing is concluded next year.

Listen to the full conversation, with Katy Katopodis standing in, on The Midday Report with Stephen Grootes:

Bail proceedings will get underway next week. It will depend on the conditions sought by the State, on whether he will remain in his uncle's Waterkloof mansion. As a convicted murderer, he is a greater flight risk.
