If #ZumaMustFall movement gains momentum, it could hurt the ANC - Fikeni

As President Jacob Zuma remains silent on the reasons for firing former Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene, a new movement is growing on social media: #ZumaMustFall.

A march has been planned to the Union Buildings on Wednesday 16 December 2015.

Political analyst Somadoda Fikeni said the movement may have a significant impact on the ANC's succession plans, if it gains enough momentum.

Listen to the full conversation from The Midday Report:

Fikeni says the ANC is in an awkward position, as it can't be seen as distancing themselves from the President, following his unexplained decision to reshuffle.

It might be the beginning of something fundamental in the developments of the ANC and the country.
