Zuma is exposed, says ANC stalwart Ben Turok

This past week saw South Africa having an unprecedented number of Finance Ministers over a short period. This after President Zuma surprised the nation by axing Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene and replacing him with relatively unknown David Van Rooyen.

In another surprise move, Zuma replaced Van Rooyen with previous Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan on Sunday night.

John Robbie on Monday spoke to former ANC MP, struggle stalwart and editor of New Agenda, Professor Ben Turok about the developments in SA's political climate.

Van Rooyen is the sleepiest member of parliament we have. He never occupied any position of any seriousness - he's been collecting certificates and degrees for 10 years. He has never said anything important and was determined to be on the back benches.

ANC remains the voice of the masses like no other party is. The problem is the voice gets totally distorted at the top by manipulation, by careerists and a president who makes mistake after mistake.
