Water security is crucial to avoid a 'water war'

Despite the end of droughts which recently saw water disruptions take place across the country, South Africa is still at risk of spiralling into a water war.

702's Azania Mosaka spoke to CEO of Water Research Commission, Dhesigen Naidoo, about his predictions of an eminent water war.

Listen to the interview below:

South Africa in spite of being as dry as it is, is one of the most water secure places in the world. We have had to innovate.

Dhesigen Naidoo, CEO of Wate Research Commission

This urban-rural divide is another way and another space we have to engage. And there's an irony about it because most of the water we get is transported from the rural areas.
