With so many ingredients flying around this festive season, the idea of using one ingredient to create 5 courses seems novel, albeit insane!

Since relocating to South Africa in 2011, Private Chef, Matt Manning has started One Ingredient; an interactive monthly dinner experience that showcases the versatility of a single ingredient across four courses, where guests are given the opportunity to recreate Matt’s dishes for themselves.

Koketso Sachane (standing in for Redi Tlhabi) explores the fascinating concept of using one ingredient in varying ways.

The most important thing is the ingredient, what you put into the dish has to be good quality. The ingredients in South Africa are second to none.
