Wedding speech 101: how not to spoil it for the happy couple

Author and public speaker Aletta Rochat has attended her fair share of wedding ceremonies, many of which involved a cringe-worthy speech.

Rochat wrote "The Wedding Speaker’s Guide", a guide to make sure that wedding speakers are remembered – for all the right reasons.

She said that wedding speeches often go wrong because everyone assumes the wedding speaker will know what to do, without offering them a brief and with limited contextual preparation.
