Absent fathers vs fathers denied child access

Following a discussion on the breakfast show yesterday morning, about absent fathers being a possible cause for a recent instance where a child was killed by her mother's lover.

Aggrieved fathers called in with views about being labelled absent fathers when they have had limited access to their children after a break up with the mother.

Listen to the conversation below:

Author and speaker, Alan Hosking talks about the impact an absent fathers and denied access can have on children.

One doesn't want to accuse or excuse but I would say to moms, 'let children have access to their fathers'. Without taking away the important role of a mother plays in a child's life, every human being is born with an insatiable need to be loved by a father. If they don't get that, they spend the rest of their lives looking for it.

Alan Hosking, Editor of 'What Nobody Tells A New Father'

I would encourage aggrieved fathers to try and find a way, even if it's through a mediator, to connect with their children's mothers and find an agreeable way of co-parenting because the children will benefit.
