Has Temba Bavuma finally proven himself after scoring his maiden Test century?

Temba Bavuma scored his maiden test century in a compelling innings on Tuesday, where the whole of the Newlands audience joined in what was an emotional celebration from player and crowd.

The 25-year-old (who has been trending on Twitter since) is the first black South African to achieve a century for the Proteas and has reignited the debate over competence and transformation in cricket.

Listeners shared their diverse views during the open line on The Redi Tlhabi Show, with Koketso Sachane standing in.

Watching Bavuma was a privileged, along with Kagiso Rabada. They are strong examples of good young players who have started their careers in spite of tough backgrounds. They deserve an award.
