Presidency denies allegations that Zuma received money from Gaddafi

The Presidency has denied a report alleging that Jacob Zuma received money from the late president of Libya, Muammar Gaddafi.

702 and Cape Talk's Stephen Grootes spoke to Mail and Guardian journalist, Philip de Wet, regarding the issue.

Listen to the interview below:

Zuma had received money from Muammar Gaddafi and it was influencing his position on Libya at the time when he was acting as an AU mediator.

Philip de Wet, Mail & Guardian journalist

What we have on this email is third and fourth hand, it's very far from proof of money exchanging hands.

Philip de Wet, Mail & Guardian journalist

What we think that this email shows is that foreign governments are willing to accept this as a possibility because they think that he's a buyable president.

Philip de Wet, Mail & Gaurdian journalist
