Growth, transformation, challenges in the film industry

The Department of Trade and Industry has made a statement saying government support boosts transformation of the film industry.

Does this mean that the industry is experiencing a boom? What about overall transformation and other challenges?

Sam and Africa spoke to filmmaker and Independent Producers’Organisation executive, Akin Omotoso about these issues.

The Department of Trade and Industry has really made a big difference to films being made locally.

It's situation a where things are working but we shouldn't be complaisant with where they are but actually there is a lot more work to be done to change how the face of how the industry looks like.

Transformation is not a choice. The time has come that you actually have to stop talking and do things.
