DA's Herman Mashaba sets the record straight on BEE

Black Like Me founder Herman Mashaba sought to clarify his position after coming under fire for his comments on BEE.

702 and Cape Talk's Redi Tlhabi spoke to the DA's mayoral candidate for Joburg on what South Africans can expect from him in the political landscape.

Listen to the conversation below:

...The first priority should be looking at this cake that we want to share and ask if this cake that we want to share is enough.

Herman Mashaba, DA Joburg mayoral candidate

Black economic empowerment should be about ensuring that it reaches as many people as possible.

Herman Mashaba, DA Joburg mayoral candidate

Zuma must fall through a democratic process. I'm calling on the people of Johannesburg to vote against this system.

Herman Mashaba, DA Joburg mayoral candidate

...We need legislative frameworks that must get our society to progress and be one united nation. Because for as long as we bring race like the National Party brought tribalism then we'll forever suffer.

Herman Mashaba, DA Joburg mayoral candidate
