Women in STEM: Bridging the gender gap in technical careers

The Women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programme aims at encouraging young women to enter the fields of science‚ technology‚ engineering and mathematics.

The programme was launched last year by The Meta Economic Development Organisation (MEDO) and so far, 120 young women have passed through the programme at their local high schools.

CapeTalk/702’s Redi Tlhabi on Tuesday spoke to Judi Sandrock, CEO of MEDO, about the operations of the Women in STEM programme.

As women somehow we tend to feel that technical degrees are all about being physically strong
