Gareth Cliff earned R356 160 for every 10 Idols sessions he judged

Court papers, revealed on Tuesday, show just how lucrative the radio personality’s deal with M-Net was.

Gareth Cliff earned R356 160 for every 10 sessions of the singing contest Idols he judged.

This was revealed in court papers on Tuesday.

The radio personality is suing M-Net for unfair dismissal and defamation after being fired from Idols SA after commenting on a racist post by Penny Sparrow.

The channel admitted Cliff is not a racist, but decided to fire him because of his failure to show empathy.

Cliff is claiming R25 million from M-Net.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) chairman Dali Mpofu represents Cliff.
