Students unite against gender inequality on campuses and communities

The HeForShe organisation in Stellenbosch believes that if everyone participates in the feminist movement, including men, issues of gender discrimination will finally be dealt with.

Last year the organisation collected 4000 sanitary towels and distributed them to young girls at Makupula High School in Kayamandi, a township near Stellenbosch University.

CapeTalk/702’s Redi Tlhabi on Thursday spoke to Khensani Hlongwane, the vice-chairperson for HeforShe Stellenbosch.

Listen to the full conversation on The Redi Tlhabi Show:

We feel that now is the time for people to be talking about gender equality and to be talking about how men are affected by gender equality as well

Khensani Hlongwane, Vice-chairperson for HeforShe organisation
