Are participants of clinical trials protected enough?

The death and hospitalisation of individuals involved in a clinical trial in France have raised questions regarding safety precautions during the process.

702's Azania Mosaka speaks to Prof Helen Rees from the Medicines Control Council about the dangers associated with participating in clinical trials.

The Medicines Control Council has regulatory oversight to ensure that the study that is being proposed makes sense scientifically, then there's constant monitoring.
