Acting National Police Commissioner Kgomotso Phahlane has given an update on police’s back to basics campaign – which has been met with mixed response.
While it’s been welcomed by crime analysts, the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (Popcru) says it’s nothing more than a ploy by Phahlane to be appointed permanently.
EWN reporter Rahima Essop on Thursday said that a national intervention team was established to implement the campaign at various 'under-performing' stations.
