African National Congress (ANC) Western Cape Chairperson Marius Fransman has been directed by national officials to step down.
This is pending the finalisation of a sexual assault investigation against him.
The Daily Maverick's Ranjeni Munusamy on Friday said that the decision to suspend Fransman is in line with the party's latest national general council resolutions.
