Acting National Police Commissioner, Khomotso Phahlalne's spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi spoke to Xolani Gwala, saying that the appointment of General Zuma was above board.

We made it very clear that when General Zuma was appointed all background checks were done. He was cleared by the courts on cases against him.
