Nkandla issue has become too politicised, says ANC

The African National Congress (ANC) is not surprised that the Democratic Alliance (DA) plans to go ahead with a Constitutional Court case on the Nkandla spending debacle.

This, despite President Jacob Zuma's recent proposal to pay back a portion of the money spent on his private residence.

ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa on Wednesday said the Nkandla matter had become "too politicised".

Listen to the full conversation from The Midday Report with Stephen Grootes:

People can't reason or think rationally, because the intention is not to find a solution, even if the solution is being proposed.

Zizi Kodwa, ANC spokesperson

People would rather consider other things to maintain their relevance.

Zizi Kodwa, ANC spokesperson

They won't accept any offer made by the president, because it is in the interest of other political parties that this issue remain in the public discourse.
