Nkandla: EFF says 'order and rule of law must be restored'

EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, on Wednesday emphasised the importance of "order and the rule of law" in reaction to President Zuma's announcement to pay back the Nkandla money.

Remember that this is a court process, we must not treat it like a separate or special matter. The proposal is an out-of-court settlement.

It's not like President Zuma had a change of heart. He's on record he has said he will not pay back the money and got the ANC to exonerate him in Parliament.

The Public Protector has received a lot of resistance from different levels of government because the Nkandla matter had eroded her standing of her office in society.

We need to restore the principle of the rule of law in this country that nobody in this country is above the law and this Nkandla matter must not be expedited, it must go through a proper process.
