Malema's 'attack' on Zuma, Gupta family sparks debate

EFF leader Julius Malema on Thursday lambasted President Zuma in his response to the recent proposal to to pay back the money used for security upgrades at his Nkandla residence.

Malema didn't hold back in his press conference, where he likened the Gupta family's business engagements in the country as 'mafia'.

702's Azania Mosaka gave listeners an opportunity to share their thoughts regarding the recent developments.

Listen to the interview below:

I'm an ANC member... I want to caution South Africans from this populist mentality. Julius is corrupt to the core.

Tebogo, caller in Joburg

Only fools will be excited by Malema's attack on Zuma that he must pay back the money. It is commendable that Malema has managed to become opposition, but he must attend to bread and butter issues.

Oupa, caller in Klipgat

It just shows how fickle we are... Julius Malema was a poster boy for the ANCYL, now he's a villain.

Michael, caller in Johannesburg

This is not about me, you and Julius Malema. This is about transparency, responsibility and accountability.

Moshebo, caller in Kempton Park

When the president was asked about Nkandla on whether he will pay back the money, he laughed.

Colin, caller in Parktown
