Netwerk24 has lodged an application in the North Gauteng High Court against the SIU to make the Nkandla draft reports public, which are alleged to have been manipulated.
702's Xolani Gwala spoke to editor-in-chief, Adriaan Basson, regarding their investigation regarding the report.
Listen to the interview below:
I was contacted by different sources with direct knowlege of the SIU's investigation, who told me that there were draft versions of the report which were sanitised before the final report was signed off.— Adriaan Basson, Netwerk24 editor-in-chief
We then launched an application in terms of the Public Acccess to Informations Act against the SUI asking for the draft reports, this application was refused. That's why we've written an application to the North Gauteng High Court.— Adriaan Basson, Netwerk24 editor-in-chief
We will argue that if the SIU has nothing to hide and if nothing was sanitised then then they should give us the draft report.— Adriaan Basson, Netwerk24 editor-in-chief
..It is of the public interest for the reports to be made public, evenmoreso if there's nothing to hide.— Adriaan Basson, Netwerk24 editor-in-chief
