'If Mbete bans 'points of order', it's an infringement on the rights of MPs'

The stage is set for what is expected to be an eventful 2016 State of the Nation Address, with threats of disruption from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

EWN's parliamentary correspondent Gaye Davis says that if National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete decides to ban points of order or points of privilege, it would be in breach of MPs constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, political analyst Ralph Mathekga says it is risky for the EFF to engage another line of questioning during the National Assembly.

Ralph Mathekga, independent political analyst
