Is patriotism an ideal that South Africans aspire to?

Are South Africans patriotic or does the idea of a nationalism and uniting under a common vision a farce?

702's Azania Mosaka gave listeners an opportunity to share their thoughts on the issue.

Listen to the conversation below:

I just find that there's this urge to stand up for your country when people leave the country because of crime and other issues. You have this urge to want to defend the country.

Karen, caller in Joburg

Colin, caller in Pretoria

Im 21 year-old so I'm quite young. The more I see of South Africa, the more I fall in love with it. I'm absolutely in love with the people, with everything about it and you don't get to hear that often.

Kaitlyn, caller in Melville

We're no perfect country but what I know is we live in the most beautiful country in the world... There's no reason why South Africa shouldn't be flying right ahead in the world community as the absolute desired destination of investment.

Tom, caller in Joburg
