Higher than average rainfall in Gauteng at last

This morning weatherman Simon Gear predicted that the rainfall will continue through to the weekend with more warnings of flash floods on major roads.

The increased amount of rain in Gauteng is big news for meteorologists and hydrologists, and a welcome relief to Gauteng residents.

While some listeners of the John Robbie Show say we have Environmental Researcher David Masterton to thank for the rain after he claimed he had technology to make it rain earlier this year; others insist that the weather services already predicted last year that it would begin to rain in March.

Meanwhile avid amateur rain measuring enthusiast Jeremy Thorpe has kept a rain gauge for over 20 years. He says according to his data, Gauteng has received an average of 110 mm of rain so far in these first ten days of March.
