Mcbride's co-accused spills beans on conspiracy to remove Dramat as Hawks boss

New evidence has emerged which links former Crime Intelligence head Richard Mdluli and Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza to a conspiracy to remove former Hawks head Anwa Dramat.

The co-accused of suspended Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) head Robert McBride, Innocent Khuba, has revealed new information in the case.

EWN's Barry Bateman reports that the details are contained in an affidavit submitted in the matter.

Khuba was appointed to investigate the so-called Zimbabwe rendition matter which implicated Dramat and former Gauteng Hawks head Shadrack Sibiya in the arrest and deportation of Zimbabwean suspects.

What has emerged to today is that in mid 2013, he says he was approached by the deputy provincial commissioner Berning Ntlemeza and was assisted with the investigation...

He was put in touch with witnesses that subsequently implicated Dramat. It got to a point where he was told by Ntlemeza that he shouldn't worry and that Mdluli is looking after him.
