Has the Gupta family captured the ANC?

According to political analyst Ralph Mathekga, the African National Congress (ANC) needs to reinstate its integrity to prove that it has not been captured by the Gupta family.

On Wednesday, Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas confirmed that members of the Gupta family offered him the position of Finance Minister, to replace the then Minister Nhlanhla Nene.

This development follows several reports about the Gupta family influencing the appointments senior government officials, with the most recent being claims made by former ANC Member of Parliament Vlatjie Mentor.

Speaking on #NightTalk with Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo, Mathekga says that recent developments strongly indicate that the Gupta family have an influence on President Jacob Zuma and the deployment of senior government officials.

He says that even if this situation has been criticised by those within and outside of the ANC, it does not mean the party is willing to recall President Zuma.
