The South African National Defense Union (Sandu) has said that President Jacob Zuma is no longer fit to be Commander in Chief of the defence force after last week's Constitutional Court ruling.
The court ruled on Thursday, that Zuma failed to uphold and defend the Constitution in the Nkandla matter.
Sandu's Pikkie Greeff has reminded soldiers of their rights to join the mass action calling for Zuma to step down, amid what he calls a Constitutional crisis.
Our members are South African citizens with the same democratic, Constitutional rights. If they feel it fit to participate in lawful means of protest or any other lawful means, then they should feel free to do so.— Pikkie Greeff, Sandu Secretary General
Greeff says that the prompt to members is not political, adding that Sandu has a right to express an opinion on Zuma's conduct.
