Gautrain is investigating a claim of violence of a commuter by one of the company's drivers.
The commmuter, Iman, took to social media with her claim while expressing the insensitive manner in which her complaint was addressed.
702's John Robbie spoke to Gautrain spokesperson, Kes Nayager, about the action they will be taking to resolve the matter.
Listen to the interview below:
She did lodge the complaint officially. We have been investigating and we have been in quite constant communication with her.— Kes Nayager, Gautrain spokesperson
We do not condone any violence in any shape or form. Not against our passengers, not against our drivers or any member of society for that matter.— Kes Nayager, Gautrain spokesperson
Nayager has appealed to any members of the public who may have witnessed the alleged incident to come forward.
Her allegation is that he assualted her. By her own admission, she ran after the driver when he disembarked the bus to flag another bus and she hit him in the back.— Kes Nayager, Gautrain spokesperson
There are two very different stories here. We need to allow a fair investigation to ensue, we cannot take any disciplinary action against the driver.— Kes Nayager, Gautrain spokesperson
