Pretty Yende: South African soprano gracing international stages

Internationally acclaimed soprano, Pretty Yende, is set to perform in South Africa for a one-night-only performance after three years.

702's Azania Mosaka spoke to her about her journey along the years while performing across Europe and the United States.

Listen to the conversation below:

Mostly, the United States has been a great place to go to because I'm based in Europe and I'm based there.

It's important to ground yourself and remember who you are, because it's a dream come true. It's easy to go with the wind and I don't want to go with the wind.

Pretty Yende, soprano opera singer

I want to be able to control the waves and that means to remember to be home with family, sleep in my old bed, eat my home food and speak isiZulu.
