We have recently seen some children of political stalwarts in the country speak out about the state of the country's leadership.
Last week, a group of 40 South Africans born or raised in exile, and calling themselves the “Young Pioneers”, wrote an open letter supporting calls for President Jacob Zuma's resignation.
The group argued that President Zuma embarrassed the African National Congress (ANC), and flouted the country’s supreme law.
In the midst of the Constitutional Court’s ruling on upgrades to President Zuma’s Nkandla home, Albertina Luthuli, the daughter of Chief Albert Luthuli, urged leaders of the ANC to listen to the voices of South Africans.
On #NightTalk, Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo asked UJ political scientist, Professor Mcebisi Ndletyana, what value the children of the country’s liberation struggle stalwarts or politicians, add to the country’s political discourse.
