'Gauteng ANC Leagues say Zuma must stay'

The Leagues of the ANC in Gauteng have come out in opposition to the Gauteng ANC's Provincial Executive Committee statement, which says President Jacob Zuma should to do the right thing and resign.

The Leagues include the military veterans, Youth League and Women's League.

Yesterday, the Gauteng ANC PEC released a statement calling on Zuma to reflect deeply, and do the right thing to resolve the unprecedented crisis that the ANC currently faces.

Xolani Gwala spoke to Govan Whittles, EWN reporter who has been following the story.

The message from the leagues here today was, if the right thing means finishing his term both as the ANC president and state president, then that's exactly what they support.

Essentially, it looks like they have come out to disagree with the outcome of the provincial executive committee.
