Fans mourn death of music legend Prince

Tributes are pouring in for late music icon Prince, who was found dead at his home on Thursday night.

The pop legend was 57 and will be remembered for classic hits like "Purple Rain", "Little Red Corvette" and "Kiss".

Music enthusiast and Solid Gold host, Kenny Maistry, says that Prince was nothing short of a phenomenon.

A multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer and a guy who really crossed genres and challenged stereotypes...Certainly a ground-breaker.

Kenny Maistry,

Maistry says Prince defied the stereotypes about black masculinity through his androgynous persona.

He says the guitar virtuoso had a major influence on 80s music and brought a "sexiness" to his performance.

The legacy of artists such as Prince and Michael Jackson will always be remembered, Maistry explains.
