Uproar over Juju's remark to 'remove the government through the barrel of a gun'

EFF commander-in-chief, Julius Malema, has come under fire following his remarks that they will 'remove this government through the barrel of a gun'.

Eusebius McKaiser (standing in for Redi Tlhabi) spoke to EFF national spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, about the statement.

Listen to the interview below:

We prefer democratic and peaceful demonstrations and elections, but the ANC must not think that it's going to rig elections then send the army to silence us and we'll just go home. We will be forced to take up arms.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, EFF national spokesperson

Any revolutionary who engages in the processes of transforming the country as we are, must be prepared for violence in that sense.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, EFF national spokesperson

The EFF doesn't have an army, the EFF doesn't have an underground unit, doesn't have a self-defence unit, we don't have guns.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, EFF national spokesperson

People protested in Relela, they were killed. People protested in Mothutlong, they were killed. There's Marikana.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, EFF national spokesperson

We are dealing with a government that defies its own laws, an ANC ruling party that rigs elections, an ANC ruling party that kills protesters.

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, EFF national spokesperson

The context in which the statement was made was in relation to if that continues to be a trend, we will be forced to take up arms.
