Nzimande talks Zuma, communism and state capture with Eusebius McKaiser

Blade Nzimande has lauded the African National Congress for championing the interests of South Africa's working class and the impoverished.

Eusebius McKaiser (standing in for Redi Tlhabi) speaks to South African Communist Party General Secretary, Blade Nzimande, about the party's position in terms of support for President Jacob Zuma along with various other issues.

Listen to the conversation below:

The ANC is our ally, and has been our ally for more than eight decades now. We still firmly believe that the ANC is the best organisation to take us forward in terms of the challenges that we have.

Blade Nzimande, SACP general secretary

It's very deliberate that as communists, we are going to be in all key sides of power and influence. It's not only government where you'll find communists.

Blade Nzimande, SACP general secretary

We see a capitalist society that has contradictions like South Africa as a challenge rather than issues.

Blade Nzimande, SACP general secretary

We have a deep interest that will serve the interests of the workers and the poor from the standpoint of the SACP.

Blade Nzimande, SACP general secretary

Nzimande expressed concern over developments surrounding the Constitutional Court judgement implicating Zuma in failing to protect, uphold and respect The Constitution.

We are a bit concerned about Minister Nxesi. Not because he's a communist, but that nowhere in the Public Protector's report is he implicated for having done anything.

Blade Nzimande, SACP general secretary

Many liberation movements face the same problems, especially in developing countries.
