Cricket SA is committed to transformation, says commentator

Cricket commentator Aslam Khota says he is surprised that Cricket South Africa (CSA) is among the sporting bodies to be sanctioned by Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula.

On Monday, Mbalula announced that some sporting federations will have their rights to host international tournaments revoked over poor transformation.

Mbalula says he will take away the privileges of SA Rugby, Athletics South Africa, Netball SA and CSA, for failing to meet transformation targets.

According to Khota, the CSA has shown commitment to transformation through collaborative agreements with the Sports Ministry and Basic Education.

Khota says CSA has been involved in programmes to develop and fund young black cricketers.

He says that transformation is a continuous process and that the CSA has met certain objectives.

I do believe, to a degree, Cricket South Africa have been progressive in this avenue.
