Whites-only ads from 27 April 1994 show how things have changed over 22 years

These advertisements, aired on 27 April 1994, make the original Freedom Day seem like a lifetime ago.

There are two (can you believe it?) cigarette ads, an ad for United Bank and one throwing forward to the then imminent launch (June 1994) of South Africa’s first two mobile phone networks.

The ads feature and target only white people.
