How dangerous are e-cigarettes and hubbly?

A report by the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention in the United States found that although there is a decrease in tobacco cigarette usage, e-cigarette and hubbly usage among middle and high school students is increasing.

On #NightTalk, Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo spoke to Professor Richard van Zyl-Smit, head of the Lung Clinical Research Unit at the University of Cape Town (UCT)’s Lung Institute, about whether e-cigarettes and hubbly are as dangerous as a tobacco cigarette.

Professor van Zyl-Smit said that e-cigarettes and hubbly are potentially as dangerous as a tobacco cigarette because they contain nicotine, the addictive substance in cigarettes.
