Govt to embark on mega housing project, formalise informal settlements - Sisulu

Minister of Human Settlements Lindiwe Sisulu, says that her department plans to embark on a series of mega projects to create 1.5 million homes.

Sisulu explains that a partnership between government and the private sector will allow for at least 46 large scale housing projects over the next decade.

According to Sisulu, the needy and vulnerable remain the first priority for land redistribution.

The intention has always been that we will prioritise the indigent; the elderly, people living with vulnerabilities, child-headed households - those deserving of immediate government support.
