Wayde van Niekerk partners with Cartoon Network for anti-bullying campaign

World 400m champaion, Wayde van Niekerk, has partnered with Cartoon Network and ChildLine in an anti-bullying campaign.

The new show airs on DSTV Channel 301 on Saturday, 7 May.

702's John Robbie spoke to the South African athlete about his recent project and his thoughts regarding the issue.

I didn't know that there were people who could help me and I ended up handling it on my own and trying to avoid the bullies as much as I could.

Van Niekerk also shared details of his preparations ahead of the 2016 Olympics and recent developments in his athletics career.

I'm still busy finding some momentum before going to Europe in June then it's pure competition, day in and out. I am quite excited to see what this year has in store for me.
