Tony Award nominated playwright Liesl Tommy on #NightTalk

Cape Town born Liesl Tommy playwright says that women and people of colour continue to face difficulties of breaking into theatre industry.

Tommy was recently nominated for a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for Eclipsed, which tells the story of five women who negotiate the brutally of war during the Second Liberian Civil War.

The play is written by Danai Gurira and stars Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o. _Eclipsed _has been nominated for six Tony Awards.

Tommy spoke to #NightTalk's Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo about her work and her commitment to break the glass ceiling and address inclusivity in the theatre industry.
