Yesterday's story in case you missed it...

As part of the Welcome 2 Jozi competition, we’ve had stand-up comedian Simmi Aref exploring the city for us, and experiencing all that Joburg has to offer.

Last week Simmi visited the Lion Park near Lanseria.

He talks to John Robbie about his experience at the Lion Park. He says it was wonderful.

It made me feel like a kid again.

Simmi Aref, Stand-up comedian

If you looking for an African safari experience and don't have time to go to the big national parks, Lion Park is an accessible and affordable alternative. It's less than 50 km from central Johannesburg, near Lanseria and Four Ways.

It's R175 and you can drive your car through the park.

Simmi Aref, Stand-up comedian

Ashref says the Lion Park has a great shop with unique products.

It doesn't feel like you are in a bad curio shop.

If you have ideas of interesting tourist spots in and around Joburg, email them to 702.co.za or tweet Radio 702 and find out if you are a winner.

Simmi Ashraf's next spot to explore will be the Orbit Jazz Club.

Welcome 2 Jozi encourages awareness about great spots in and around the city which will encourage tourists to stay in Joburg for an extra day, and thereby build our tourist economy.
