Open Line on Public Protector death threats, voting and judge's facebook posts

Redi Tlhabi opened the phone lines this Monday morning after a weekend that raised a number of issues for discussion, with Thuli Madonsela's alleged death threats being one of them.

Another issue up for discussion is the Tlokwe Constitutional Court ruling due, dealing with the important issue of voting addresses.

Redi Tlhabi asked listeners what they thought about the "Vuwani breakthrough" with claims that there has been a powerful breakthrough in government's negotiations with traditional leaders in that community.

Lastly she raised the inflammatory issue around Judge Mabel Jansen's Facebook post that pointed fingers at black culture around the issue of rape, causing an outcry on social media with cries of racism.

The Public Protector should be commended for the work she has done, but i am skeptical about these reports.

Frank, Balfour Park

When we went down to register last weekend, although we had voted there for years, they had our wrong address.

Marcelle, Durban

Aaron from Lenasia called in about the Vuwani protests...

It's been happening for years. The Venda municipalities hasn't really favoured Tsonga people. they always put Venda people first. In terms of schools, the teachers in Tsonga area are Venda. They cannot even speak Tsonga...it leads to anger in the Tsonga people.
