Doubt now cast on identity of second Chibok girl rescued in Nigeria

In Nigeria government officials say they’ve now managed to rescue a second girl who was kidnapped by Boko Haram from the town of Chibok two years ago.

Colonel Usman (Nigerian military spokesperson) released a statement early this morning saying that the troops in conjunction with the vigilante group who are referred to as Civilian JTF (joint task force), conducted an operation around a particular place...a local village

The troops said killed about 35 Boko Haram and rescued about 7 women and children being held in captivity by Boko Haram terrorists, and one of them was this girl.

But Omale revealed that he had just seen a tweet from the organisation heading up the rescue of the missing girls, saying 'the identified girl, Serah Luka, possibly rescued by the Nigerian army is actually not on the list of 219 girls that were abducted by Boko Haram.'

That is beginning to generate a lot of controversy right now, says Omale.

We have these conflicting statements coming up now, and we waiting to see how the Nigerian army will respond.
