Hope Rises Solar to create jobs and bring energy to rural communities

Hope Solar Rises plans to distribute solar systems to rural communities by creating employment for women and alleviating the energy crisis.

702's John Robbie spoke to clean energy expert and founder of the organisation, Adele Badzo, regarding her plans.

The idea is to solve three major issues. Specifically the energy crisis in rural areas, looking at increasing our green energy footprint and women empowerment.

Right now, I'm working on the pilot running in the rural areas of the Eastern and Western Cape.

I hope to engage the women in doing small rooftop solar, and larger equipments such as solar fans and fridges.
