Gatebe and Bosman stun spectators in dramatic wins at Comrades 2016 Marathon

Comrades 2016 Marathon winners, David Gatebe and Charne Bosman, have stunned spectators with their performances in the annual race.

702/Cape Talk's Redi Tlhabi spoke to the winners of the 89 kilometer race, which stretches between Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

It's such a dream come true. I was scared of going out too hard, and that's why I was focused on my plan.

Gatebe nabbed two achievements in the annual race, going to break the 'down' record. He who went on to do push-ups after the finish line.

My aim was to break the record because I told my training partners what I was going to do.

I asked my manager for two months' leave so I can train for the marathon in the mountains.
