Why would you not vote for the African National Congress?

Why would you not vote for the African National Congress (ANC) in the 2016 local government elections looming ahead?

South Africans expressed their views on the issue, Redi Tlhabi which will also pose the same question for the Democratic Alliance (DA), the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and smaller opposition parties over the following days.

702/Cape Talk's Redi Tlhabi gave listeners an opportunity to share their thoughts regarding the issue.

Listen to the views below:

ANC failed the South Africans. They said they are going to give us houses here in the townships. The ANC failed to supply us with water in the rural areas.

Sello, caller in Alexandra

I won't vote for the ANC because they've been in power for too long. They have been captured by corporates.

Craig, caller in Boksburg

They do not have a single plan for young, educated graduates or young people. They are so relaxed with having power.

Asanda, caller in Port Elizabeth

Corruption, lack of service delivery and complacency of the party after being in power for a long time were recurrent issues.

Zuma managed to waste more than R250 million. Zuma must bring all that money to educate our people and build hospitals.

Mabel, caller in Joburg

The fact that the ANC has supported him [Zuma] in everything that he's done, I can't vote for a party like that.

Chris, caller in Florida
