Corruption Watch's Bua Mzansi, the Public Protector Campaign, plans to ensure that the public protector's appointment is transparent and is influenced by public opinion.
Corruption Watch Executive Director, David Lewis says the five minute survey on their website will give the public the opportunity to say what kind of the public protector do they want.
He is urging the public to participate in the process, as Public Protector Thulisile Madonsela's term ends on 19 October 2016.
If you don't take advantage of your democratic right, you get the democracy you deserve.— David Lewis, Corruption Watch Executive Director
Lewis says there are four qualifying criteria set by parliament; the new public protector will have to be a judge or advocate or attorney with ten years of experience, or a experience in public administration or a member of Parliament.
