#RespekTheDoek: Ladies post pics of their head wraps in support of eNCA reporter

Women on Twitter have pledged solidarity with eNCA reporter Nontobeko Sibisi, whose video package was allegedly pulled off air because she donned an "unprofessional" head-wrap in the insert.

The scandal, now referred to as #DoekGate, has infuriated many South African women who believe that there is still a great deal of cultural intolerance in the work place.

Women from all over the country have now used the trending hashtag, #RespekTheDoek to share empowering images of themselves wearing colorful headgear.

Some Twitter users have criticised eNCA for oppressing cultural and religious identities, while others have shared messages of support.

Sibisi, an arts and entertainment reporter, has since thanked social media users for all the encouragement.

Below are some tweets from the Twitter hashtag.
